Context and development of rental at Milwaukee

In 2011, Olivier Biou, Prescription Director for France, saw an opportunity for the group—at the time the world’s third-largest manufacturer of power tools—to enter the long-term rental market.

Convinced of the potential of this model in France, he identified Milwaukee, one of the group’s brands, as the ideal candidate to explore this promising segment.

Milwaukee distributes professional equipment through a network of retailers, targeting mainly companies in the construction and professional gardening sectors.

Today, products such as hammer drills, demolition hammers, saws, lawnmowers, and pruners are also available for rent.

Implementation of the rental agreement

To bring this vision to life, a partnership with Leasecom was established.

Leasecom, a pioneer in financial leasing, finances the purchase of Milwaukee equipment, enabling the brand to offer an innovative and competitive rental service.

The offer is called Service Platinum and is aimed at Milwaukee retailers’ end customers. They can choose the rental period (36 or 48 months) and pay a fixed monthly fee, which includes a comprehensive and efficient maintenance contract.

With long-term rental, Milwaukee customers are more loyal than ever.

“With some, we are already on our fourth renewal,” says Olivier Biou.

The success is linked to the “all-inclusive” offer, which also includes after-sales service.

Milwaukee’s Platinum Service, for example, guarantees:

repairs within 72 hours, insurance coverage, and warranty for the entire duration of the contract.

“Milwaukee has literally taken off in France with rental!” concludes Olivier Biou.

“The brand is growing at a rate of 25-30% per year and has significantly strengthened its image among construction professionals.”

According to him, the financing provided by Leasecom has been decisive in this success.
